Bond Falls
Visitors gravitate to Bond Falls in Michigan, and it’s not difficult to see why.
If you’re in southern Ontonagon County, you can find the impressive Bond Falls on the middle branches of the Ontonagon River. The river flows over a series of bedrock steps that create a series of cascades and eventually a 50-foot drop. The falls are best viewed from the overlook on the south side of the river.
Tahquamenon Falls
Tahquamenon Falls is on the Tahquamenon River and is one of the most popular waterfalls in Michigan.
A series of five cascades drop nearly 50 feet over a span of about 200 feet.
The Upper Falls is the larger and more impressive of the two, dropping into a large basin.
The Lower Falls is a series of two smaller drops you can enjoy from an observation platform.
Hungarian Falls
The Hungarian Falls are located just outside of the town of Ishpeming.
These falls are unique because the river actually flows under a large boulder, creating a waterfall from both sides. Look out for the basaltic rock wall on the left side; it creates a beautiful cascade effect!
The falls are visible from a nearby parking lot and a short walk down to the river.
Ocqueoc Falls
You will find Ocqueoc Falls in Presque Isle County, Michigan. This waterfall is the only official one in the northern lower peninsula. It is 15 feet high and flows over a limestone ledge into a deep plunge pool.
Ocqueoc Falls is easily accessible and can be viewed from a public access area and a short hike. This waterfall is especially popular during the spring when the runoff creates a larger and more impressive waterfall.
Sable Falls
Sable Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is 125 feet tall and is easily visible from the nearby hiking trails.
The falls can be accessed from the Sable Falls Trail, which is a 2.5-mile loop. The trail takes visitors through a lush old-growth forest and across multiple suspension bridges, culminating in a view of the impressive Sable Falls.
Miners Falls
Miners Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The falls are situated on the Miners River and are easily accessible from a short hike from the nearby parking lot.
The cascading waterfalls flow over a series of bedrock steps and are best viewed from the observation deck located on the north side of the river.
Munising Falls
Munising Falls is located in the city of Munising, Michigan. It is a 25-foot waterfall that plunges into the Alger County River.

Douglass Houghton Falls is best viewed from the observation platform located near the falls; an ideal spot for photographers and waterfall enthusiasts.
Horseshoe Falls
Horseshoe Falls is a unique waterfall located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
This waterfall is rare in that it is actually two separate waterfalls that are connected by an impressive bridge.
The east side of the falls is 20 feet tall and drops into a large plunge pool. The west side of the falls is much smaller but still creates a stunning cascade effect when viewed from the Horseshoe Falls Bridge.
Manabezho Falls
Manabezho Falls is a powerful waterfall located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It towers over its surroundings at a height of over 180 feet.
The falls are fed by Manabezho Creek and plunge into a deep plunge pool below. The falls are surrounded by lush hardwood forests and provide a stunning view to those who visit.
