Up there with the best Triple D restaurants in Virginia has to be Hillbilly Hot Dogs. Found in Lesage Virginia back in 1999, the weenie stand is run by married couple Sonny and Sharie. The Mayor of Flavortown is such a big fan that Hillbilly Hot Dogs have been featured not once, not twice, but three times on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. If you’re feeling brave, make sure to pick from their Homewrecker menu which includes The Original WidowMaker – a 30-inch, two-pound hotdog with four pounds of toppings!

With strong roots in Texas, co-owner Chris Fultz wanted to bring Texan barbecue to Virginia. So in 2013, along with Alex Graf, he set up ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque. It got the thumbs up from Guy Fieri when he visited during season 31 of Triple D. Guy Fieri visited this tasty spot back in 2019 on Triple D and it’s safe to say he was a fan. The portion sizes are great here and the prices are very reasonable – you won’t find anything above $20.
