Grindstone Lake

This destination is the most popular spot for families to get out and enjoy a day on the lake. With plenty of picnic spots, Grindstone Lake is an excellent place to connect with nature while enjoying family company.

Surrounding the lake filled with fish ready to be caught are plenty of hiking trails and campsites. Guests can enjoy plenty of activities, such as horseback riding, mountain biking, and even rock climbing.

Eagle Lake

Eagle Lake sits just outside of the Sierra Blanca mountain range and is actually made up of two separate lakes that are divided by only a thin strip of grass, creating a beautiful tableau of nature. 

The site has plenty of amenities and opportunities for activities, such as camping, RVing, and fishing. It feels like the ultimate outdoor playground for anyone to go and have some fun outdoors. 

Alto Lake and Recreation Area

Only 15 minutes away from Ruidoso sits Alto Lake and recreation area. This stunning outdoor destination has many natural trails, beaches, picnic tables, and more.

The recreation area also has campgrounds, restrooms, shelters, and areas for motorized boating and fishing.

Mescalero Lake

Mescalero Lake is a beautiful outdoor area located on the Mescalero reservation at the Inn of the Mountain God’s Resort.

Although the lake is stocked with healthy fish levels, the lake is usually enjoyed by guests of the resort. The lake is open every day of the week and welcomes people from all over.

Bonito Lake

This stunning alpine lake is the perfect place to experience a piece of nature in New Mexico. It is surrounded by the Lincoln National Forest and makes a beautiful location for camping and fishing.
