The Animals

The sanctuary cares for a number of naturally bred exotic animals from Australia and New Zealand.
Some species in the genus Macropus include the red kangaroo, the antilopine kangaroo, the eastern grey kangaroo, and the western grey kangaroo.
They also have wallabies. Wallabies look like smaller kangaroos. Their legs are not as powerful as those of the bigger kangaroo species. They also have wallaroos, which are a cross between the two.
You can meet a variety of animals at the petting zoo including sugar gliders, capybaras, African grey parrots, and even peacocks!
The Experience

Visit the farm from 10 to 3 every day! If you want to engage with the animals while they are most active and excited to receive treats, try to come early!
As guests enter the petting areas, they will receive special treats to feed the animals. You can get up close and personal with the animals as they feed right out of your hands or even pet and hold them if the animal permits.

Although a select number of individuals may have the chance to travel to Australia a couple of times in their life to experience these wild animals, most will not have this opportunity.
The farm’s location in the Okanagan Valley means that it has very warm and dry summer temperatures,which is an ideal climate for the marsupials.
The farm maintains that they wish to keep everything as un-commercial as possible. The collect money from tickets for vet services, animal feed, and general maintenance of the farm.
The Rules

The farm specifically prohibits dogs from approaching the fences bordering the farms. Dogs may become confused and stressed by the sight of a kangaroo. Many breeds that have high prey drives may try to bark and lunge at the animals.
Every animal exhibit has rules for farm visitors. However, the smaller ones like reptiles, in particular, need more rules to ensure that they are handled with more care.
If your young children start to grab at the animals, please make sure to keep them calm and remind them to take it slowly around the animals. Even though they are tame, kangaroos are still wild animals.
