After ticking off several North American National Parks and exploring Europe by train, his sights are now set on South East Asia. If you’re fed up with hearing the “I’m bored” calling cry of grandkids, then you might want to consider a cruise. Not just any old cruise though, a Disney cruise. From dinner to swimming to dance workshops, you won’t have to organize a thing – let the good people onboard do the hard work for you! Send the grandchildren off for the day whilst you relax by the pool, before sharing a magical evening together as a family!

Utah is home to not one, not two, not three (you get the picture…), but five National Parks! So what better state to take the little ones to and take in some of our great nation’s scenery? Moab is a perfect hub for these parks; a short drive will take you straight to Arches National Park and Canyonlands from the city. Plus, for the kids (and adults) that love dinosaurs, there is the Moab Giants, an open-air dinosaur theme park!

If you’re looking for a beach vacation, check out Vero Beach in Florida. For the older grandkids, and young-at-heart grandparents, you can take self-guided kayak trips through the mangroves across the Indian River Lagoon. The little ones will enjoy the boardwalk trails and the various adventure playgrounds. If you can’t make it in the summer, the later winter months are still a great time to visit, with strawberry picking season running from January to March.

Dude Ranch

A place to disconnect and get back to nature, dude ranches are a great place for grandparents to bond with their grandchildren. A lack of Wi-Fi means you’ll all have the opportunity to fly fish, horseback ride, whitewater raft, and kayak! Just think of all the fresh, tasty food that will be on offer and evenings stargazing, all snuggled around the campfire.

Huntsville, Alabama
