1. Aberdeen Lake

Aberdeen Lake is located in the Pines Region of Mississippi on the old Tombigbee River. The middle channel of the lake is popular with boaters and water skiers. Also, the town of Aberdeen has some restored antebellum homes which provide a pleasant place to take a lunch break by the lake. The lake’s many coves and crappie, catfish, and bass provide anglers with great fishing opportunities.

Sardis Lake is located just one hour from Memphis. It is a part of the Tallahatchie River and has a total of 98,520 acres. Sardis Lake has one of the best fishing locations and water activities. This lake is home to many adventurous wakeboarders, tubers, and skiers. This lake has many record-breaking hybrid bass and bighead carp. This means the lake is great for fishing! Grenada Lake has become a popular spot for people who want to take part in outdoor adventures. Grenada Lake is a human-made reservoir on the Yalobusha River in Mississippi. The lake was created for flood control but now draws more and more visitors to exciting fishing tournaments and to relax in campgrounds like the beautiful Hugh White State Park.
4. Enid Lake

Enid Lake is rich with history and home to many living organisms. It is located in Yalobusha County and also goes into Panola and Lafayette counties. It is known for having some of the best fishing in the area for white crappie, largemouth bass, catfish, and bream. The lake also provides equestrian (horse) trails and teaches families, scouts, and school groups through their education center. There are also plenty of campsites available for family camping trips.

Pickwick Lake extends across three states and offers a variety of activities for every type of adventurer. Anglers can try their skills and test the warm waters of the Colbert Fossil Plant Discharge Basin or look for trophy catches in the tailwaters below the Wilson Dam. 6. Arkabutla Lake

A home to more than two million visitors each year, Arkabutla Lake has a long history and a wide variety of outdoor activities available in Mississippi. The reservoir was created in 1940 while the Arkabutla Dam was being built on the Coldwater River. The dam created the lake and diversified the types of activities that could be enjoyed. The lake spans 37,700 acres and offers activities to both the adventurous and the more relaxed. The area offers public hunting and year round water sports and nature activities.
7. Lake Washington

Cypress trees, duckweed, and thriving life still occupy the shores of this once ancient part of the Mississippi River. Lake Bill Waller is located in honor of Mississippi’s former Governor Bill Waller and spans 168 acres. The lake is located seven miles southeast of Columbia and is filled with history of trophy catches and game fish. In 2007 the lake underwent major renovations. The Mississippi State Biologist team manages the lake and provides anglers with the opportunity of a catch and release game or of fishing to catch their next meal.
11. Columbus Lake

Columbus Lake is located in the Tombigbee Waterway and is 9,000 acres large. Anglers are drawn to this location because there is some of the best bass fishing in the state. 12. Ross Barnett Reservoir
