Alvord Lake, located within Encanto Park, is an urban oasis in Phoenix. Many visitors to the park enjoy a picnic at the lake or do some fishing, while others just take a break by the water. Relaxation is the goal at Alvord Lake, whether you’re fishing, watching the kids play from the shade of the towering trees, or enjoying the water from a row boat.

Bartlett Lake, northeast of Phoenix, is located in a desert oasis. People who enjoy the water come to Bartlett Lake for boating and fishing, but the water is also great for kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming.

Kiwanis Lake is located within Kiwanis Park in Tempe. The lovely waters of the lake and its peaceful surroundings are ideal for relaxing, and the lake is a favored destination for novice anglers, as it is stocked with catfish and rainbow trout, and is also a popular place for families to play in the water in conjunction with all the other recreational opportunities offered by Kiwanis Park, which include a playground, volleyball courts, and hiking trails.

Lake Pleasant is a desert treasure and is located northwest of Phoenix. The expansive water reservoir has been created by Waddell Dam on the Agua Fria River.
