Bahamas
The Bahamas is a 30-minute flight from Miami—a convenient getaway for Southerners. And although many people believe the Bahamas to be one singular island, the Bahamas actually spans over 700 isles, with Grand Bahama and Nassau Paradise Island being the most popular amongst tourists.
Like many other islands in the Caribbean, the Bahamas has some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever lay your eyes on— some that even have swimming pigs (you’ll want to head to Exuma to see those). You can also find many adventurous activities on the islands, including exploring the Andros Barrier Reef, snorkeling the Thunderball Grotto, and strolling down the bustling market streets.
Barbados
Barbados is the Caribbean’s easternmost island that boasts beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and an abundance of marine life that is best viewed with a snorkel.
If you’re a rum drinker, then Barbados really is the place for you because it’s where rum-making began. With rum-making classes and cocktail workshops, you can get fully involved with the island’s favorite liquor before soaking the alcohol back up with delicious Caribbean food.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is the second-largest Caribbean country and a popular choice amongst Caribbean vacationers.
